Women's Apple-shaped Body Is More Dangerous To Health

Why Women With Apple-shaped Body are More Likely to Die?

The same is fat, but the location of fat accumulation is different, and the impact on women's health is also very different. Studies have found that women with apple-shaped bodies are more likely to die from heart attacks and strokes.

Apple-shaped Body

Women become more beautiful and feminine during puberty due to the high secretion of estrogen. But it also promotes a lot of body fat accumulation in the abdomen, buttocks, and, thighs. Therefore, women will gain weight if they do not pay attention to maintenance when they reach a certain age, and the consequences are not only affecting their appearance but also harmful to their health.

Women get fat, one is the upper body fat, mainly in the abdomen, the whole body is round, called "an apple-shaped body"; the other is the lower body fat, mainly in the buttocks, with narrow shoulders and wide hips, like a "pyramid", also known as "ar shape". Although being overweight can affect your health, an apple-shaped body is more harmful by comparison.

Apple-shaped people are overweight in the waist and abdomen, shaped like an apple, with thin arms, thin legs, and, a big belly, also known as abdominal obesity, concentric obesity, and visceral obesity. This type of human fat is mainly deposited in the subcutaneous and cavities of the abdomen.

Richard Terry, a physiology researcher at Stanford University in the United States, found that although fat in the abdomen and fat in the buttocks both store fat, their characteristics are very different. She had observed abdominal fat cells in a test tube and found that it was more active than other fat cells. What is worrying is that abdominal fat is distributed in the abdomen, it can continuously expel fat cells into the blood, and this blood with fat cells has been flushed into the body's liver. When a person's liver is surrounded by too many fatty acids, it accelerates the production of low-fat protein, which would otherwise enter the heart, lungs, and arteries, and quickly flushes it out of the blood. This condition promotes the occurrence and development of high cholesterol, fat hardening, and heart disease.

Therefore, you can test whether you will suffer from the above diseases according to the ratio of waist circumference and hip circumference. The method is to measure the waist circumference while standing and then divide the waist circumference by the hip circumference, and the conclusion is the waist-to-hip ratio. According to the study, the acceptable upper limit for women is 0.75 to 0.80; for men, it is 0.85 to 0.90. If it exceeds the upper limit, there is a risk of disease.

In addition, a Swedish study found that women with an apple-shaped bodies were not only more likely to die from heart attacks and strokes but were also more likely to develop dementia. Middle-aged women with waists larger than their hips were more than twice as likely to develop dementia in older adults, researchers found.
